Slushies

mmmmm ~ spending my morning thinking about what type of food I'm going to use for my booth at the small group expo this weekend.

Hubby and I head a group called Young Married Fun Group. The name really says it all.

Young ~ under 40!

Married ~ self explanatory

Fun ~ we do fun stuff. Think bowling, mini golf, movies, sushi and trivia at Buffalo Wild Wings.


A group that's right up Chris and I's alley.

Anyway ~ back to the slushies. We have a big expo weekend to kickoff the semester. This year there's a contest to see who has the best booth.

Now I have no delusions of winning, but I won't show up empty handed for sure. I've gotten three email about it so I KNOW I don't dare show up empty.

For the last few days I've been in a creative slump. Nothing would come to mind. I was dead in the water with ideas. There's only so much you can do with a 6 x 8 space that has black curtains.

Of course last night at 12:30am when I should have been sleeping I come up with something. Figures.

It'll be cool though ~ slushies are just part of it. lights, funny pictures, cheese and cracker tray and some cool fruity slushie drinks. Should be fun!

I'll take pics and let ya'll know how it turns out.

OHH ~ I forgot ~ slushies. I need some recipes. Anyone have something that's good and NON-alcoholic?

Back in the swing of things

I just made out like a bandit at Rite Aid and Target!!!

I think my couponing/sales slump is over!! lol.

Good thing too because I was just complaining (whinning) that I had nothing to eat in this place.

needs.....

I need to clean the house.

I did find a dress ~ actually a couple so I now I have to figure out which one to wear.

My desk is a mess.

I need to be ball gown hunting for the next Joi de Vivre at Crossroads.

The laundry is piled up.

Chris needs deck shoes for the fishing excursion he's going on.

The lawn needs to be mowed.

The school books need to be organized.

My van needs to be cleaned.

So many things I NEED to do...............and all I REALLY want to do is take a vacation. lol.

All by Myself

I'm going shopping today.

By myself.

It's a rare treat for myself. Normally I drag the kids along with me, but a friend has offered to watch my "gang" (I hope she knows what she'd getting into!) No ~ they'll probably be fabulous. They always are when I'm not there. Figures.

Anyway ~ back to the dress. I need one. For a wedding. In three weeks.

Why is this so hard?

I have a closet full of nice dresses. None that I want to wear though. Thank God for store credits and coupons.

I'm off to The Limited where I have a $50.00 credit. Please Lord! Let there be something nice on sale because I'm not spending an arm and a leg for a dress!!

Sabbatical of sorts....

Well here it is Wednesday and I haven't blogged all week. I know you all noticed right? (yeah don't worry I'm not that delusional)

Life is good, but busy. I'm trying to lower the drama factor in my life so I made a decision to take a "sabbatical" I guess you could say from the Acadiana Moms Like Me board. Not that it's not a great board (because it is and I've made a ton of great friends) but I've been feeling that it was time to take a break from it. Everyone deserves a break at some time or another right? Well this one is mine.

I'm actually enjoying not being on the computer all the time. Little Facebook in the mornings, check my mail and for the rest of the day I have time to do all the million little things that need to be done around here. The internet can be a good thing, but too much of a good thing can be all wrong. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Into a New Season

Today's a busy day (my baby is turning 13!!)

TEENAGER ~ wow. Who would have thought we would be here?

Just yesterday (isn't that every mother's phrase?) he was my little blue eyed baby.
